Balance is key to healthy skin.
Have you noticed your skin feeling oily but still dry?
Have you noticed acne prone skin due to clogged pores from using a thicker moisturizer to aid your dry skin?
FYI: Dry skin is a skin type whilst dehydrated skin is a condition.
Dry skin and dehydrated are not the same as
skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, etc.
The trick to maintaining balanced skin is making sure you incorporate a balance of water and oil in your daily skincare routine. Water is essential in order to combat dehydrated skin. What is dehydrated skin you ask?
DEHYDRATED SKIN
Dehydrated skin is the absence of water in your skin. Water helps to hydrate, plump, and deliver those powerful skincare ingredients into the pores more smoothly. Our bodies are made up of 70% water, so of course your skin needs the same hydration. Follow the golden rule and drink at least 8 glasses of water if you are not already drinking plenty of water a day.
Signs of dehydrated skin:
itchiness dullness darker under-eye circles sunken eyes
Our serums are a blend between your traditional serums and an essence. Our serums help to incorporate the water hydration to your skin while delivering effective ingredients to combat skincare concerns. The textures are light with great slip to easily apply and balance your water to oil levels.
DRY SKIN
Dry skin, on the other hand, lacks natural oil and oil helps to seal in moisture. if your skin is dry this means that it produces less sebum(oil). To help with dry skin, incorporate an emollient cream to your skincare regimen. Applying an oily moisturizer will not help your dry skin, in fact it may increase acne breakouts. Dry skin may seem similar to dehydrated skin, however, you cannot treat dry skin through diet and lifestyle changes.
Signs of dehydrated skin: scaly skin white flakes redness irritation
Our moisturizers were created with various skin types in mind ranging from oily to dry/mature skin. Each moisturizer gives your skin the moisture level needed to hydrate. A key ingredient in our products, Algae extract, helps to hydrate, revitalize, and tone the skin. It also helps to reduce acne, cellulite, and even wrinkles.
A cool trick that you can try at home is to gently pinch your skin. If it bounces back your skin is hydrated, however if there's a pinch imprint, your skin is dehydrated!
